Global Head of Business Continuity

I am currently conducting a search for a Global Head of Business Continuity This person will be responsible for developing, maintaining and managing the company's global business continuity program. This individual will ensure effective controls are in place and support all activities necessary to enable the Firm to respond to a business interruption.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain a corporate wide business continuity program
  • Assist with the company's global governance structure for crisis management and continuity planning
  • Liaise extensively with Global Business Heads (Front Office and Support Functions)and Business Continuity Coordinators to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Develop a global Business Continuity Management strategy leveraging existing efforts and market best practices
  • Participate in global pandemic planning with other internal departments
  • Work closely with IT to develop/maintain DR plans for critical systems and applications and to ensure that internal recovery sites are updated and functioning properly
  • Manage and coordinate the efforts of the regional Business Continuity Managers
  • Continue relationships with Disaster Recovery (DR), Information Technology (IT) and Facilities peers
  • Prepare Global level BCP plans and manage the local and regional BCP documentation
  • Make regular site visits to Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery facilities in all regions
  • Coordinate the global BCP testing program with DR and actively participate in the testing scenarios
  • Escalate risks and coordinate mitigating responses
  • Develop status reports (e.g. dashboards) on location continuity plans and prepare management reports as necessary
  • Ensure continued compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and industry standards on BCP/DR programs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience preferably in financial services
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Proficiency in MS office products (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills (tact, discretion) with ability to effectively communicate and influence decision-making with senior management
  • Excellent leadership, teamwork and interdependent skills
  • Project and program management skills; implementation planning (attention to detail is of paramount importance)
  • Excellent analytical skills and an understanding of processes, risks and controls
  • Ability to work with a global team; resourceful, energetic, self-starter, flexible, goal-oriented
  • Experience with software based business continuity planning tools a plus (e.g., Strohl Systems BIA Pro, LDRPS)
  • Must have similar BCP management experience or IT DR background
  • Previous exposure to an investment banking or brokerage environment is highly desirable, as is an understanding of the relevant financial products (Exchange Traded F&O, CFDs, Cash Equities, Stock-Lending, Fixed Income, Metals, Energy, FX and Commodities)
  • Must be able to travel to multiple countries (e.g., Canada, England, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, etc.) and obtain necessary passport/visas for traveling to these locations.
