Senior Professional Services Consultant - Web Application Firewall and Data Protection Vendor

New York, Boston, Chicago

Compensation: 100 to 110K base (DOE) plus bonus, equity

Overview:

My client is fast growing and highly regarded security product vendor committed to protecting data in both enterprise applications and database environments. The executive management team has a track record of founding, growing and leading some of the most recognized security solutions firms in the industry. This is a "mid-stage" startup with a solid product suite and impressive customers but it's early enough in the company's history that new employees will still benefit greatly from the company's continued success.

The Sr. Professional Services Consultant provides on-site, post-sales installation, deployment and basic education services to North America based customers. As the second member of this newly organized professional services team, this individual will be a self-starter capable of creating service offerings as well as delivering quality service engagements.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that products are deployed and operating to meet customers expectations
• Provide customers with progress reports and other project documentation
• Troubleshoot technical issues with the help of the Support team

Skills and experience:

• This position requires strong technical skills and solid experience working with internet security and networking technologies and relational databases
• Experience delivering services through channel partners
• Ability to scope, design, document and implement integration requirements.

• This person will be comfortable in pre-sales situations, assisting the field where necessary in selling major professional services engagements

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in a similar position
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, Load balancers, proxies and firewalls
• Deep knowledge of Databases preferably MS-SQL, Oracle, Sybase, DB2
• Deep knowledge of operating systems such as Linux/Windows
• Experience in installation, configuration and maintenance of Web servers such as IIS, Apache and Tomcat
• BS degree in Computer Science or related field
• Willingness to travel both domestic and overseas
