PMO Director - Technology Services

Responsible for the management of the Project Management Office (PMO), which includes oversight of significant projects (e.g., strategic change management, new business and product initiatives, process re-engineering, establishment of control procedures) within the IT Infrastructure area.  Responsible for the management of multi-disciplinary projects.  Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.  Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations' effective achievement of objectives.  Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data are required.  Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria of projects, programs and people.

 

Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.  Mitigate risk from potential erroneous decisions, which would have a serious impact on the overall success of functional, division or company operations.  Regularly interacts with executives.  Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with internal clients or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.  Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area through several department managers within the company.  College Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree desired.  Typically has 15 years related experience and a minimum of 8 years management experience.  Strong quantitative, analytic, and project management skills are required. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

      Ensure compliance to SDLC controls for all projects supported by Technology Services (TS - IT Infrastructure) and SDLC initiatives sponsored by TS.

      Continue to evolve Project Management practices & standards to support Infrastructure projects and refine support for Delivery Services (DS – e.g., Application Development) efforts to support greater delivery productivity.

      Provide standard project reporting metrics for all projects/sponsors.

      Ensure a requirements management discipline is in place.

      Deliver TS services required in support of the key strategic initiatives within 95% on time schedule delivery & within 95% of budget provided against requirements.

      Manage initiative / projects budget to an average  /- 5% of forecast.

      Manage demand to ensure that TS resources are fully deployed on corporate priorities
