Technology Risk Manager - New York, NY

Compensation - $100-$120K base plus bonus.   

Position Summary: 

As the Technology Risk Manager within the Operational Risk Department establish a globally consistent assurance program to manage and identify technology risk.  Ensure controls are in place and effective to protect information and information systems from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification or destruction.  Ensure controls are in place to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information / data.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a global strategy that effectively and efficiently identifies, assesses, mitigates, manages and reports Technology Risk.

Develop and implement standards for technology risk management.

Design an assurance program to ensure the standards and controls are in place to mitigate technology risk.

Identify areas for potential risk / loss avoidance.

Integrate, as appropriate, other control initiative programs (Internal Audit, SOX, Compliance) and agendas to establish a strong Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) environment; leveraging efforts and minimizing duplication of efforts.

Implement a consistent global strategy.

Communicate effectively with Operational Risk and BCM colleagues.

Foster relationships with Information Technology (IT) peers.

Provide Technology Risk reporting to risk and governance committees.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5-10 years of experience relevant experience preferably in financial services.

Bachelor's degree.  Master's degree a plus.

Demonstrated understanding of secure, complex information systems' environment.

Expert in COBIT and related ISO information security standards.

Relevant experience in the implementation and management of a risk management program.

Project and program management skills; implementation planning.

Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.

Team player with the ability to work independently.

Willingness to travel.
