Operational Risk Management Director

Lead the development of frameworks and strategies to manage operational risk at an enterprise level. Evaluate, adapt, and oversee implementation of industry best practice in operational risk management, including the Basel II Advanced Measurement Approach. Direct the identification and oversight of current and emerging enterprise operational risks within the organization and integrate into an enterprise-wide view of risk (including credit, market, and operational).  Develop and implement corporate-wide operational risk measurement tools and metrics. Coordinate the development and tracking of key drivers of operational risk.  Define and implement management reporting on operational risk levels and on emerging risks to senior management forums and external parties (auditors, regulators).  Identify and oversee execution of education / training needs and strategies.   Job requires a Masters degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Economics, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired; ten years of experience in financial services industry, with focus in areas such as risk management, compliance, audit, controllership.

Works with application developers and managers to control applications-related IT risks including development risks (e.g., SDLC, Change Management), data integrity, processing, operational risks (e.g., backup, bcp), security risks and privacy risks.

Manages and develops a team of risk management professionals skilled in infrastructure technologies and IT risk.  Prepares presentations, white papers, and other communications that effectively describe processes, risks and controls.  Responsible for running core risk management programs including issue management, operational effectiveness testing, and management self-assessments within the infrastructure area.

Must have experience with application development.  Bachelor degree in Business, Economics, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related fields.  Experience with Java, C , SQL, Sybase, Oracle, UDB, Unix, Mainframe, WebLogics/Tomcat.  CISA and prior Big 4 experience desirable.
